Important Note: Almost ALL furnace filters have a different “actual size” than the nominal size printed on the air conditioner filter. It’s best if you measure your air filter for the EXACT size and compare it to our “Actual Size” – and then you can be sure your A/C air filter fits! With the 4″ and 5″ air filters there is a wider variance between the nominal and actual size depending on the manufacturer. We also carry 4 3/8 and 5 1/4 inch depth filters, this is why we ask you to compare the exact dimensions.
Nordic Pure 20x25x5 Air Bear Replacement MERV 13 air filters measure an actual depth of 4 7/8″. The Pleated Plus Carbon air filters are made of electrostatically charged synthetic materials with an added flat panel infused with activated charcoal that will attract and capture most airborne particulates in your home. It will help eliminate unwanted odors as well as trap most airborne dust and particulate matter for fresh, clean air. Odorous gases and vapors (VOC) are attracted to and held by the activated carbon material while maintaining excellent air flow properties. Each time air passes through a Nordic Pure pleated furnace filter, lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, bacteria, allergens, mold spores and other contaminants are removed. All Nordic Pure Air Bear replacement pleated air filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, moisture resistant beverage board frame. The frame has 2 strips of foam tape on 2 sides. There is a metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats for extra support. Our AC filter media prevents the growth of bacteria or mold, resulting in a much healthier living environment.
MERV 13 Trion Air Bear replacement furnace air conditioner filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 2200-2400. This high-performance HVAC replacement filter will outperform non-electrostatic fiber-glass filters, washable filters, poly disposable filters, and will help keep your air conditioning and heating systems running efficiently, saving money on utilities and costly maintenance.

What are filter MERV ratings?
MERV ratings are Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values, or MERVs, report a filter’s ability to capture larger particles between 0.3 and 10 microns (µm).
This value is helpful in comparing the performance of different filters
The rating is derived from a test method developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The higher the MERV rating the better the filter is at trapping specific types of particles.
Average Particle Size Efficiency in Microns
MERV Rating / Efficiency
1-4 / 3.0 – 10.0 less than 20%
6 / 3.0 – 10.0 49.9%
8 / 3.0 – 10.0 84.9%
10 / 1.0 – 3.0 50% – 64.9%, 3.0 – 10.0 85% or greater
12 / 1.0 – 3.0 80% – 89.9%, 3.0 – 10.0 90% or greater
14 / 0.3 – 1.0 75% – 84%, 1.0 – 3.0 90% or greater
16 / 0.3 – 1.0 75% or greater
All furnace filters require regular replacement to function properly. Follow the manufacturer’s or filter suppliers recommendations on maintenance and replacement.
How does a furnace filter help improve indoor air quality?
A furnace filter will help remove pollutants, VOC’s, pollen, dust and other particles from the air in your home. Over time dirt and pollutants start to build up and block the filters ability to clean the air, this is the reason it is important to regularly replace your furnace filter.
